With over 1,000 published stories, veteran journalist Doc Lawrence is eager to share his vision of a higher life with HIP readers. A highly respected observer of elevated lifestyles, our magazine welcomes “a sentimental gentleman from Georgia” as our distinguished Food and Wine Editor.

Doc’s credits read like a Who’s Who of food and wine! A brilliant commentator and journalist, Doc was the founding publisher and editor of The Nationwide News. His career includes books, radio broadcasting, (host of Your Atlanta Gourmet), public relations, and television. Doc is the host and executive producer of Down South Today. His Southern Times Shared (Pelican Publishing, hardcover 2014) was co-authored with TV celebrity chef Lara Lyn Carter and is the publisher/editor of Jim Sanders Cooks for Wine Lovers.

Doc is a member of the Atlanta Press Club, South Florida International Press Club, Knights of Wine Society, and a KCBS Certified Judge. His current work in progress, a screenplay, “Requiem For a Wine Taster” a day in the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr”.

Doc is a graduate of Florida State university and Emory University.
